Interested members of the public are admitted into the membership of the institute through examinations. The Institute’s Professional Examinations Structure has been drawn to reflect new developments in global business. For the professional stages and accelerated graduate membership programme, the examination is written twice in a year in designated centres throughout Nigeria. i.e. April and October every year. Only duly registered students are eligible to sit for the Institute’s examination.

The registration as a student for examination closes on the dates stated below:

April Exams:
Registration as a student closes on the last working day in January of Exam year
Registration for examination closes on the last working day in February of Exam year

October Exams:
Registration as a student closes on the last working day in July of Exam year
Registration for examination must be completed at most one month ahead of that examination. Any case of late registration will not under any circumstance whatsoever be entertained.

Minimum Examination Entry Qualifications:

Prospective candidates should have at least any of the following qualifications:

  1. General Certificate of Education (O/L) or Senior Secondary School Certificates-Credits in 5 subjects including English languages, Mathematics obtained at not more than two sittings.
  2. Other equivalent qualifications as approved by the council are eligible
  3. Matured candidates with lower qualifications may apply
